How to treat overheated with absent sweating

Managing Overheating Without Sweating

Our bodies naturally cool down through sweating when we feel overheated. However, some individuals experience a condition known as anhidrosis or hypohidrosis, where they have little to no sweating. This can be particularly concerning in hot weather.

Dr. Huh Im has outlined a protocol for managing overheating in individuals with absent sweating:

  1. Acupuncture: Apply three moxibustion cones (dried mugwort burned on specific points) at the following acupuncture points:
    • DU4 (Governing Vessel 4)
    • RN12 (Ren 12)
    • BL19 (Bladder 19)
    • LU6 (Lung 6)
  2. Additional Points: These points can be added if necessary, but only by a qualified acupuncturist:
    • BL13 (Bladder 13)
    • KI3 (Kidney 3)
    • LI4 (Large Intestine 4)
    • SJ6 (San Jiao 6)

Important Note: It is crucial to consult with a licensed acupuncturist for proper diagnosis and treatment. Self-treatment with moxibustion can be dangerous, especially for individuals with certain health conditions. This text is for informational purposes only and should not be taken as medical advice.
